1.1 Fee Schedule
| Fee / Cost | Mandatory or Optional | Who Pays It | Amount / Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyer Platform Fee | Mandatory (unless Seller elects Seller Pays Buyer Fee — see 1.2) | Buyer | $0.99 flat, per transaction |
| Seller Platform Fee | Mandatory | Seller (deducted from payout) | $0.99 + 1% of the sale price, before tax |
| Payment Processor Fee (Stripe / PayPal / Iyzico) | Mandatory — inherent cost of accepting any payment | Seller (deducted from payout) | The processor's actual rate for that transaction (e.g., approx. 2.9% + $0.30); not a List99 markup |
| Shipping Cost (carrier rate) | Mandatory if the item ships | Buyer, unless the Listing is Free Shipping or Seller Pays Buyer Fee (see 1.2) | Actual carrier rate at time of purchase |
| Shipping Label / API Cost (EasyPost) | Mandatory if a shipping label is purchased through the Platform | Seller (deducted from payout) | EasyPost's actual cost to generate the label |
| Shipping Insurance | Optional — Seller or Buyer may elect it where offered | Whoever elects it | EasyPost's flat insurance rate |
| Promotion Fee ('Promote') | Optional — Seller elects to purchase | Seller | Rate shown at time of purchase (e.g., $0.10/day plan) |
| Promotion Processor Fee | Mandatory if a Promotion is purchased | Seller | The real processor fee on that specific charge |
| Referral Reward | Optional — Seller sets the amount (or $0) at listing time | Seller (deducted from payout upon a qualifying, approved referral) | Flat dollar amount the Seller specifies per Listing |
1.2 Seller Pays Buyer Fee — What the Seller Is Actually Agreeing To
A Seller may elect, on a per-Listing basis, to enable "Seller Pays Buyer Fee." By enabling this option, the Seller expressly agrees that their payout for any resulting transaction will be reduced by ALL of the following, in addition to the Seller Platform Fee already described in Section 1.1: (a) the $0.99 Buyer Platform Fee that would otherwise have been charged to the Buyer; and (b) if the Seller has also configured the Listing as Free Shipping or otherwise elected to bear the shipping cost, that shipping cost as well. By enabling this option at listing time, the Seller acknowledges and agrees to bear the combined cost of all fees and costs that would otherwise be split between Buyer and Seller, as the price of the marketing and conversion advantage this option is intended to provide.
1.3 What List99 Does Not Charge
Consistent with List99's stated fee philosophy, List99 does not charge: a listing fee, a monthly subscription fee, a "final value" fee beyond the Seller Platform Fee disclosed in Section 1.1, or a fee based on referral percentage. The only fees List99 itself collects are the Buyer Platform Fee and Seller Platform Fee described in Section 1.1. All other amounts described in the fee schedule above (processor fees, shipping costs and labels, promotion charges) are pass-through costs charged by the applicable third party and are not List99 revenue.
1.4 Order of Deductions at Seller Settlement
List99's current settlement code does not deduct every cost in a single settlement pass. As implemented in Escrow_model.php, the initial seller payout for an order is calculated as: (Sale Price) minus (Seller Platform Fee) minus (any Buyer Platform Fee the Seller elected to absorb under Section 1.2) minus (Payment Processor Fee, when that fee is available to the Platform at escrow creation). Free-shipping label costs are charged separately to the Seller Shipping Wallet and are not deducted from seller_payout_amount in Escrow_model.php. Referral Rewards are not deducted during initial escrow creation; they are deducted later, when approved or auto-released, by reducing the order's seller_payout_amount in escrow_transactions. Sellers can view the resulting payout and related deductions in their account records.
