2.1 Eligibility and Registration Requirement
To generate a Referral Link and become eligible to earn a Referral Reward, you must be a registered, logged-in member of the Platform. Referral Rewards are paid only to the registered account that generated the Referral Link that led to the qualifying purchase. You do not need to be a Buyer or Seller of any item to register and participate in the Referral Program — the Referral Program is open to any registered member.
2.2 How Referral Rewards Work
A Seller may set a referral bonus amount on their Listing at the time of listing creation. When a Referral Link generated by a registered member (the "Referrer") results in a completed, paid purchase of that Listing by a buyer, the Referrer becomes eligible for a cash-value reward equal to the amount the Seller specified, subject to the review and approval process described in Section 2.5. The referral reward is funded entirely by a reduction to the Seller's payout for that transaction — List99 does not fund referral rewards.
2.3 Acceptable Use of Referral Links
List99 encourages Referrers to share Referral Links through ordinary, personal use of email, text messaging, and social media, in a manner that would be recognizable to the recipient as coming from someone they know, consistent with genuine word-of-mouth recommendation. This is intended to let members earn income by sharing products they find on List99 with their own personal or professional network.
2.4 Prohibited Referral Conduct
The following conduct is strictly prohibited and will result in forfeiture of any earned or pending Referral Reward, and may result in suspension or termination of your account:
- Self-referral: referring yourself, an account you control, or an account controlled by a member of your household or business, to earn a reward on a purchase you made or arranged.
- Automated or bulk distribution: using bots, scripts, mailing-list software, or any automated tool to generate or distribute Referral Links at volume, including mass or bulk email campaigns not sent to individually known recipients.
- Unsolicited commercial messaging: sending Referral Links as unsolicited commercial email or message ("spam") to recipients who have not consented to receive communications from you, including purchased or scraped contact lists.
- Misrepresentation: misrepresenting List99, a Listing, or the existence or terms of the Referral Program in any referral communication.
- Circumvention: attempting to generate Referral Rewards through any means other than genuine, individually-initiated sharing of a Referral Link.
2.5 Approval, Hold Period, and Reversal
Referral Rewards are not final upon a qualifying purchase. Rewards are subject to manual review and approval, or automatic release after a hold period (currently 14 days) has elapsed without a dispute, refund, or fraud flag on the underlying order. List99 reserves the right to reverse, withhold, or deny any Referral Reward — including a reward already paid or credited — if the underlying order is refunded, disputed, cancelled, or found to involve conduct prohibited under Section 2.4.
2.6 Tax Reporting
Because Referral Rewards represent taxable income to the recipient, they may require separate tax tracking or reporting under applicable federal or state law. List99's current seller 1099-K aggregation logic tracks seller gross order volume from order_products and does not currently aggregate Referral Rewards into that seller-volume rail. It is the Referrer's responsibility to report Referral Reward income to the applicable tax authority regardless of whether a tax form is issued.
